Underwriting Supervisor - Small Commercial Accounts -St. Petersburg, FL
FinTrust Connect, a trusted partner of a well-established financial institution, is seeking an experienced Underwriting Supervisor to lead our client's small commercial accounts underwriting team in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.
In this role, you will oversee a group of underwriters responsible for evaluating insurance applications, while ensuring the profitability, growth, and quality of the small commercial insurance portfolio. You will provide guidance, ensure the team adheres to company policies, and help manage risks while delivering excellent service to our clients.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field preferred.
5-7 years of proven experience in small commercial underwriting, with a focus on small business accounts.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong understanding of risk assessment, insurance policies, and industry regulations.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), ARM (Associate in Risk Management), AU (Associate in Commercial Underwriting), or equivalent professional designation (preferred).
Description:
Supervise and mentor a team of underwriters handling small commercial accounts.
Review and approve underwriting decisions, ensuring accurate risk assessment and appropriate coverage levels.
Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and sales, to ensure cohesive service delivery.
Ensure the team follows underwriting guidelines and best practices.
Assist with complex or high-profile cases, providing expert advice and recommendations.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and support ongoing training and development.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance.
