MTS of Gardner is a transportation contractor for the local regional transit authority, MART. Our company operates fixed route and paratransit services in and around Fitchburg, Leominster, Gardner, Athol, and surrounding communities.
We currently have the positions below available in Gardner:
WEEKEND AND WEEKDAY PARATRANSIT VAN DRIVER (3) Regular driver's license (Class D) - Current top wage $26.10 - starting rate $18.50.
BUS/VAN DRIVER (1) Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brakes - Current rate Tier: $27.15 bus - Current top rate van $26.10 - starting rate $18.50 Van, $19.50 Minibus.
Drivers ensure the safe transportation of passengers in either a small van or large bus (depending upon licensing). Shifts may be split: 6am-10am & 1pm-5pm (example only) hours vary by position. Extra work is available by signing and is issued by seniority. Bus/Van position may also require weekends. Paid on the job training is provided for all drivers.
Cleaners/Fuelers are responsible for the appropriate maintenance and overall cleanliness of MART's vehicle fleet. This position also maintains the appearance of bus shelters. Operational specific paid training is provided.
Both positions require effective communication in English and are unionized under ATU, Local 690.
