Meet the team:
The R&D Mechanical Engineering Characterization Team is responsible for the feasibility and development of next-generation products at Dexcom. We're seeking a Staff Medical Device Engineer who can use cross-functional mechanical and material science skillsets to characterize key attributes of our glucose sensing architecture.
Positioned within the Mechanical Engineering team, this will be a high visibility, high impact role in achieving Dexcom's product performance and reliability goals through delivering functional excellence in the research, development, and characterization of enabling technologies/designs & their integration to a product ecosystem.
Where you come in:
• As a technical leader within the test characterization team, you will define the appropriate metrology tools and characterization plans to enable next generation products.
• You will develop test methods related to sensor mechanical properties and interactions with other components of the system.
• You will characterize the mechanical properties of our sensor to understand their role and performance within our product system.
• You will conduct evaluations of products, processes, or new technologies to isolate specific product outcomes through experimental builds, testing and analysis.
What makes you successful:
• You have good problem solving skills. You can break down complex problems in order to understand key factors and correlations.
• You have the ability to define metrology needs of a product system, working with design engineers and user requirements to map product needs to measurement methods.
• You have familiarity with Six Sigma methodology and tools such as DOE's and capability analyses.
• You have the ability to utilize statistical analyses to make data-backed conclusions.
• You have experience in biomechanics or products interfacing with living tissue.
