Job Summary
As the manager of disability benefits, you will lead a team of long-term disability analysts to ensure timely, accurate and thoroughly investigated disability decisions are being made contributing to the company’s success through excellent customer service and meeting or exceeding performance objectives.
Guide your team to execute medical and vocational investigations and disability management strategies and techniques, and pursuit of deductible income and over-payments, and claims are managed to correct payment duration.
Coordinate the assessment and management of policyholder accounts, implement intervention and reporting strategies in response to sales, marketing and client needs and claim trends; promote effective working relationships and coordinating self with Group Sales and Marketing, Special Accounts, Underwriting and other operating units to install, service and retain existing accounts and contribute to the sale of new accounts.
Provide subject matter expertise on technical claims and product knowledge to help your team achieve organizational goals.
Respond to internal and external inquiries on claim administration as well as product and service issues.
Skills and Background You’ll Need
At least five (5) years of experience analyzing claims in long-term disability.
Prior leadership experience and/or experience approving and mentoring claims professionals is highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of managed disability and claim management principles and practices, contract interpretation and application, ERISA, state laws and case laws pertaining to disability claim administration.
Demonstrated progressive experience with disability benefit administration, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
Experience and ability to develop new analysts, setting them up for long-term growth and success.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$92,750.00 - $148,500.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
