ECS is seeking talented professionals to join our successful and growing team in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. The CDM Data Services product is an integrated suite of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products, software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet DHS requirements.

ECS is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Manager to be part of a team supporting 5+ environments ranging from developer sandboxes to production. This individual will be passionate about cloud, DevOps, automation, and software development. As we seek to deliver mission critical cloud services to the federal government - stability, automation, and scalability will be critical to our success. This individual will work with many teams to pursue industry best practice and seek to collaborate with many stakeholders. Work location is Fairfax, VA, with the option to work remotely. A strong candidate will always seek to deliver work as code in a repeatable manner, have a desire to lead and have experience with modern DevOps technologies to provide high quality technical support and leadership for transformational efforts and teams. The ideal candidate will be able to align to the following duties:

  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of the AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Build, release, and manage the configuration of all production systems.
  • Manage a continuous integration and deployment methodology for server-based technologies.
  • Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to design and implement any scalable software services.
  • Ensure necessary system security by using best in class cloud security solutions.
  • Stay current with new technology options and vendor products, evaluating which ones would be a good fit for the company.
  • Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when necessary.
  • Recommend process and architecture improvements.
  • Troubleshoot the system and solve problems across all platform and application domains.
  • Oversee pre-production acceptance testing to ensure the high quality of a company's services and products.



Required Skills:


  • Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability.
  • At least 8 years of experience in and deep knowledge of:
    • Linux.
    • Cloud infrastructure in AWS or Azure.
    • Configuration management experience through Ansible/Terraform/Chef/Puppet.
    • Git, CI/CD and other development tools.
    • Strong scripting skills in at least one language (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash).
    • Managing costs / implementing cost optimization strategies in AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with supporting containerized services in production.
  • Experience leading project technical delivery efforts.
  • Advanced cloud architecture skills in one or more clouds, including designing and implementing multi-tenant architectures.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience designing solutions within the Government Cyber Mission Space and legal constraints applicable to civilian Government Agencies (e.g., FISMA, FIPS, SecOps)




Desired Skills:

  • Proven success in supporting a broad array of cloud services.
  • Experience delivering technical excellence in the federal space.
  • Experience with supporting the Elastic Stack in production.
  • Familiarity with managing the Atlassian suite of ALM tools.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps processes, methodologies and philosophies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with both AWS and Azure Cloud Environments.
  • Experience with containerization and microservice architectures.
  • Relevant professional level cloud or DevOps certifications.
