As a Machine Configuration Engineer, you will concept and configure new products, components, or technologies for Productivity Class Large Mining Trucks. This position performs complex design work, identifies design problems, and resolves problems. You will work directly with different units, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams with a primary focus on technical delivery.

What you will do:

  • Create and promote new concepts, designs and machine arrangements.
  • Perform needs analysis and initiate ideas.
  • Evaluate new products, designs, and processes.
  • Support product maintenance and improvements.
  • Coordinate product tests and machine builds for prototype and early production machines.
  • Keep up to date on new technologies and develop new technologies.
  • Communicate technical information to customers, team members, suppliers, and other units.
  • Support and advise other engineers, managers, marketing personnel, customers, and suppliers.
Education and Experience Requirement: Associates degree in applied sciences with extensive experience in technical field or Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

What Skills you will have:

Systems Thinking: Experience with design, application, integration or product support of mining or heavy equipment. Requires a self-starter with proven technical skills.

Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical skills and a mastery of engineering concepts.

Effective Communications: Strong technical communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate with global team members and partners.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to short and mid term planning.

Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and the ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving technical or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Education and Experience Requirement: Associates degree in applied sciences with minimum 5 years' experience in technical field or Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Decatur, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

This position may require 10 % travel.
