Job Description:

Job Summary: The Senior Certified Payroll Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the payroll function for multiple projects, ensuring accurate processing of certified payroll reports and compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, labor laws, and reporting requirements.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and process certified payroll for multiple projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Review and verify timecards, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked.

  • Generate and submit certified payroll reports to government agencies and clients.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation for audits and compliance.

  • Respond to inquiries related to payroll, including employee questions about wages, deductions, and taxes.

  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and regulations affecting payroll.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end payroll reporting.

  • Train and mentor junior payroll staff on best practices and compliance.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a certified payroll role.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, labor laws, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in payroll software

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
