Join our rapidly growing Magnetics Engineering team to help define an exciting future for our department. The number and variety of transformers and coiled components we produce is increasing and we are growing our capability to design, prototype, qualify, and produce new magnetic products.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will work with R&D and Production to develop new transformers and develop World Class production processes. This will include leading in the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of the transformers, specifying and procuring new production equipment and tools, working with production to develop production processes, setting up the business system (Dynamics AX) for prototyping and production builds, performing capacity analyses, training production assemblers, and approving work instructions. You will demonstrate capability in project management to lead a team through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Continuous Improvement using Lean, 6-sigma, and World Class Manufacturing principles is an important aspect of every job at SEL. As a Manufacturing Engineer you will lead and model these principles, as well as modeling the SEL core values every day.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
1. Provide technical leadership to product operations; assist supervisors with new techniques, procedures, processes and problem solving. Own the manufacturing engineering support for defined product lines within the Magnetics department.
2. Drive product/project decisions between R&D and manufacturing.
3. Develop, maintain, follow, and improve manufacturing engineering area processes. Create specifications for tools and new equipment.
4. Drive proto/pilot builds through manufacturing. Analyze results and provide written reports to production, R&D, and the Magnetics development team.
5. Provide business system, process flow, and design for manufacturability input to R&D during new product development.
This job might be for you if you have:
1. B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
2. 2 years experience in electronic manufacturing processes.
3. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
4. Knowledge/experience in any of the following: manufacturing tooling design, material flow modeling, process design, cabling, and reliability.
5. Knowledge/experience in surface mount technology design guidelines.
6. Knowledge/experience in sheet metal fabrication.

Pay Range Data:
We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Salary range for position is $69,100 - $108,100. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
