About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer within the Control Management organization to join the Front-Line Issue Verification Execution Team. This team is responsible for evaluating issues, including conducting root cause analysis, assessing the effectiveness of solution designs, testing the outcomes of that design, and finally ensuring the closure evidence meets standards while connecting and building relationships with key partners.

This Lead Control Management Officer will serve as a key individual contributor and must have demonstrated ability to lead and foster a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication, swift execution, and strong cooperation. This Lead Control Management Officer will work closely with business leaders and control teams across technology and information security throughout the issue verification process. The person in this role is expected to exemplify a strong bias for execution, exceptional and deliberate planning, and leadership with integrity.

In this role, you will:
  • Conduct verification testing of Issues at key points in the Issue Management lifecycle to identify observations on the success of mitigation efforts, and ultimately provide Issues rating.
  • Conduct activities in coordination with LOB stakeholders, and in alignment with Issue Management frameworks and policies.
  • Execute pre-verification and planning activities (i.e., execute pre-verification checklist, develop verification plan).
  • Perform verification activities leveraging issue verification framework and related policy and procedures.
  • Develop test plans and execute end to end testing of controls for design and effectiveness.
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Drive quality and consistency across the issue verification program.
  • Draft conclusions and/or findings based on the verification activities performed.
  • Maintain verification documentation (e.g., test plan, verification checklist, verification summary memo, etc.).
  • Interfaces internally with the team.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous workstreams at once.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Audit and/or controls testing experience.
  • Experience in the development of testing plans and procedures.
  • Experience in assessing risk, reviewing risk ratings, and identifying control deficiencies.
  • General awareness of technology risk management in the financial services industry.
  • Track record of working in a team-based environment to solve business challenges.
  • Ability to drive quality and consistency across the issue verification program.
  • Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
  • Capable to deliver high quality output.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while paying close attention to detail.
  • Experience evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and internal controls; additional experience analyzing business and/or systems changes to determine impact.
  • Broad knowledge of technology and the associated challenges, risks and required controls inherent in a complex federated environment, including knowledge of SDLC, Architecture, Cloud, Datacenter, Vendor and third party, BCP, PMO, Change, Problem, and Incident Management, SOX and other Regulations, Access management, Asset Management, Compliance, Information Security.
  • Understanding of technology and security risk frameworks. Including, but not limited to: COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL, COSO, BASEL, and OCC Heightened Standards.
  • Professional certifications such as CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM or similar.
  • Risk Management Certification Programs.
  • Ability to influence and consult internally.
  • Strong risk and control fundamentals.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Pay Range:

New York, New York: $133,300 - $237,100 Annually
