We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Sr. Learning & Development Specialist who has strong communication skills. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing and facilitating many of Thomas & Hutton's training and development offerings. This role will be involved in assessing the current and future development needs of our employees and identify and/or develop programs enhance skills, improve performance and drive growth. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)
Training Needs Assessment
Conduct needs assessments (organization, team, and role level) to identify the training and development needs of our employees.
Partner with department/region leaders to align training programs with business goals and individual development plans.
Training Program Design and Development
Determine the best approach to achieve identified training needs (buy vs. build) and leveraging existing resources whenever possible, e.g. Microsoft 365 Courses
Identify potential external training partners and facilitate the selection process for identified learning needs.
Develop and/or customize training content to meet the specific needs of different departments or roles.
Training Coordination and Delivery:
Coordinate all aspects of identified internal training programs.
Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, ensuring they are engaging, informative, and effective.
Manage and coordinate external training providers, ensuring they meet organizational standards.
Support and coach internal managers and subject matter experts in the delivery of on-the-job training.
Employee Development:
Partner with the HR Department Manager to develop and manage career development initiatives including development planning, leadership development, mentorship programs, etc.
Provide coaching and support to employees to help them achieve their career goals.
Learning Management System Administration & Analytics :
Design and create learning paths that align with Thomas & Hutton's roles and career paths.
Maintain and update learning content within our LMS, including managing access to training resources, keeping training materials current, etc.
Provide support to users.
Track and analyze user engagement and progress within the learning platform, identifying trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Produce detailed reports on learning outcomes, completion rates, and the effectiveness of training programs, providing insights to stakeholders.
Work with the HR team on projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications / skills
Bachelor's degree in human resources, education or related field
A minimum of 5 years of progress experience in training and development
Professional HR certification highly desirable.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training-related software.
Ability to analyze data, assess training needs, and evaluate program effectiveness.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, Friday 7:30AM-11:30AM .
