The Medical Assistant/Department Secretary provides direct and indirect care to Botox Clinic patients to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care. Under the direction of the Director or designee of the Department the Medical Assistant/Department Secretary performs various administrative and direct/indirect patient care duties which facilitate each patient's readiness for their injection visit and an optimal unit patient flow. The Botox Clinic providers to assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. Expectations of the individual in this position will be to demonstrate professionalism; excellent organizational, time management, customer service and communication skills; the ability to be self-directed; work well in a group and focus on patient-centered quality care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs assigned administrative and direct/indirect patient care duties to ensure efficient operation of the Botox Clinic ((BWF Neuro Head Botox).
Schedules patients in a manner that optimizes an efficient flow in the Botox Clinic Performs patient check-in and check-out after appointments and schedules appointments as needed.
Triages phone calls in a pleasant and courteous manner, collaborating with professional personnel when appropriate, accurately relaying messages to the appropriate personnel.
Assists in facilitating patient flow in Botox Clinic ((BWF Neuro Head Botox) by appropriately notifying Provider staff of patient arrivals, cancellations, etc.
In all duties, upholds HIPAA requirements, adhering to confidentiality standards in all communications about patient information, i.e., schedules, medical records, phone calls.
Files all charts and testing results into the patient medical record in a timely manner.
Updates charts, clinic schedule and medical records to include add-on cases, cancellations, etc.
Assists in inventory, and supply management; Orders office supplies weekly as needed and puts supplies away in appropriate places.
Notifies interpreter services of patients who will need medical interpretation.
Demonstrates ability to efficiently use FH EPIC Chart system.
Escorts patients to and from the procedure room and/or to other areas of the hospital, as requested.
Assists with room prep and set-up for procedures within the practice following standard operating procedures, including gathering appropriate supplies.
Clean equipment and room after each procedure, following infection control guidelines.
Places patient on monitor, checks vital signs, removes IVs and/or perform EKGs as indicated/directed Performs patient education as directed/requested.
Demonstrates transfer techniques utilizing proper body mechanics to prevent discomfort or injury to patient or self
Assists patients as needed, i.e., on and off stretchers, in and out of wheelchairs, or into chair in treatment room.

Qualifications
BLS required.
Medical Assistant Certification required
High School Diploma or GED required
Graduate of Medical Assistant Program required
Preferred 1-3 years in a clinical setting.
