Job Title: Loan Processing Specialist

Department: Specialty Loan Operations

Reports To: Loan Operations Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Grade: 8

Summary

The Loan Processing Specialist is responsible for supporting the Commercial/Business, Mortgage and Construction Loan departments with various loan processing and servicing duties. Create an environment and culture to make members’ dreams come true.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The employee is expected to perform other tasks, duties and training as dictated by their supervisor/manager.

Processing and Servicing Duties

  • Maintain and/or assist with department funding reports
  • Order title binders, order flood certificates, check secretary of state website for good standing, check UCC filings, check county website for property/owner information, send invoices to be paid as needed
  • Enters and verifies member relationship information and financial information in Symitar and maintains updates as needed
  • Back-up Servicing with payment processing and Bridge Cases
  • Review mortgage loan documents for accuracy before and after funding
  • Assist with preparing for audits, internal and external
  • Assist with mortgage post funding audits-upload files and follow up on responses (TENA)
  • Maintain loan files after funding and throughout annual review preparation
  • Prepare Release of Liens, Modifications and Subordinations
  • Complete draws for construction loans and lines of credit.
  • Track and maintain commercial and construction insurance, backup escrow duties for mortgage servicing
  • Contact members as needed to obtain financial information for Commercial Annual Reviews

Support Duties

  • Subject Matter Expert on FICS Loan Operating System, and Servion TPO site to support training of staff and to assist with problem solving as issues may arise.
  • Provide ongoing loan support to the Commercial/Business, Mortgage and Construction teams.
  • Maintain Commercial files and Annual Reviews; including, updating financials statements; ensuring credit files and Symitar system are updated and properly documented; preparing files for annual portfolio reviews, maintaining insurance ticklers.
  • Review title policies as received for accuracy; communicate with Title companies for edits as needed
  • Monitor receipt of appraisals, environmental reports, physical inspection reports, preliminary title report, credit report and other third-party reports to ensure timely receipt
  • Perform appraisal reviews
  • Perform maintenance within the system for denials and withdrawals and mail letters.
  • Act as back up for Mortgage loan document preparation and loan funding
  • Assist with gathering funding conditions on Mortgage Loans, as needed
  • Perform other support functions to assist with mortgage, construction and commercial/business operations.

Member Service

  • Assists in any other areas as directed by the Senior Management and/or President/CEO.
  • Accurately identify all members using RGCU approved types of identification for all transactions.
  • Completely and accurately obtain and input all CIP information for new accounts.
  • Properly update all necessary CIP information in the core processor for prime and joint members and customers on all accounts for all transactions.
  • Complete and scan all required Bank Secrecy Act business documentation such as but not limited to: the business account questionnaire and the Beneficial Ownership form.
  • Accurately perform OFAC during transactions such as but not limited to: opening new accounts; adding individuals to an account or shares; producing cashier’s checks or money orders; initiating wires, etc.
  • Ensure that all accounts, loans, and transactions are reviewed for the appropriate red flags.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the Risk Management department via the compliance group email.

Education and/or Experience

Experience- 6 months to 2 years related experience.

Education- 2-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study OR 2 years of related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Symitar and Microsoft products.
