The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh seeks to be a national and international leader in regenerative medicine to address organ and tissue failure. McGowan researchers are dedicated to finding groundbreaking solutions in the fields of tissue engineering, cellular therapies, and medical devices to address human health issues of societal importance.
The McGowan Institute’s goal is to use the vast field of regenerative medicine to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Our institute’s 250 interdisciplinary faculty members across the University of Pittsburgh’s campus and with other academic, industry and government partners are driven to conceptualize, innovate, develop, and commercialize regenerative medicine technologies for societal benefit.
Supports clinical research projects by coordinating projects and drug trials, assessing patients' qualifications, and facilitating protocols. Collects and reviews lab results, patient data, and lab specimens; administers medications and protocol-specific treatments. Performs general laboratory duties and specialized nursing duties, trains new staff, and ensures regulatory adherence.
The initial training for this role will be held in Pittsburgh. Required to independently provide nursing care, identify and communicate the impact of the research process on patient care, and adjust interventions based on findings. Expected to report issues/variances promptly to the research team, administer research interventions, collect patient data according to protocol specifications, evaluate the patient response to therapy, and integrate evidence-based practice into nursing practice.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Travel between locations is required.
