The position of Production Lead is considered an entry level position for those who have expressed an interest in and have displayed abilities to lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of workers as assigned by the area(s) of responsibility to deliver value to internal and external customers. This position requires a high regard for safety at all times in performing any tasks associated with working for Harris Products Group.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Include the following and other duties maybe assigned.
Works safely and supports safety within their team and across the organization
Lead Responsibilities - 50%
Run equipment up to 50% of time or as needed using appropriate measurement equipment to confirm product characteristics.
Track daily time of production personnel
Audit and maintain work instructions
Assign resources to meet scheduled production requirements
Modify and audit work instructions
Know, understand and be able to effectively utilize the various tools of Lean Manufacturing to support and lead the continuous improvement efforts including 5S audits
Ensure Kanban levels are maintained
Make on the spot corrections of any unsafe acts
Participate in employee evaluations
Coach and develop team members
Maintain training levels
Participate in inventory audits / cycle counts
Participate in gemba walks led by operators
Support and enforce all Company policies and procedures
Perform all responsibilities in a consistent, reliable and professional manner.
Participates in interviews and provides input for selection and hiring
Advises supervisor about counselling of employees that may lead to future disciplinary action
Advises and consults with supervisor and HR and takes disciplinary action when needed
Exercise strict confidentiality in regard to personnel matters.
Conducts oneself in a manner that sets a positive example for all employees and encourages teamwork.
Provide an environment which fosters good morale amongst your employees.
Establish and maintain sound communications with subordinates, peers and management.

Performs daily shift audits
Troubleshooting - 25%
Assist in maintaining repair parts inventory & supplies
Clean, inspect and disposition of tooling
Administrative - 20%
Communicates pertinent information to supervisor.
Assists with daily data entry of production reports as demand warrants.
Document and report all Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses.
Properly fills out paperwork, takes pictures, assist with root cause analysis of the IINM.
Responsible for helping correct discrepancies in 5s and EHS Audits
Safety Training, Team Meetings & Lean concepts - 5%
Participates in safety training and demonstrates a high regard for safety at all times
Attends team meetings
Utilizes lean tools: 5s, visual factory concepts in maintaining order and cleanliness
Education and/or Experience
Required -
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to understand manufacturing processes
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Preferred-
Experienced with SAP, Centra/Citrix Data base
Experience with Lean tools
Operate material handling equipment
