JOB DESCRIPTION:
Pulling and verifying materials and supplies on production orders.
Keeping loading areas and machinery clean.
Moving raw materials and finished products within the manufacturing plant using industrial equipment.
Receiving incoming materials from suppliers, inspecting them, and recording them in inventory systems.
Loading and unloading inventory, managing and cataloguing inventory, and operating different types of machinery.
Wrap orders and place them on trucks for delivery.
Document orders, materials and any stock movements.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Material Handler will be responsible to perform all functions in a stockroom and warehouse environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition you will:
• Stock and retrieve boxes and parts of various shapes and sizes from indoor and outdoor storage areas
• Communicate in a team environment
• Load and unload trucks
• Use pallet jacks and material movement devices for retrieval and moving of items
• Pack product for shipping in accordance with customer requirements, business processes, and applicable regulations
• Utilize foaming machines, pad-pack machines, shrink wrap machines, fork lifts, and other tools / equipment, as required
• Use computer applications to ship confirm, run packing slips, and other tasks related to shipping, receiving and stockroom
• Produce labels using computer programs
• Load trucks both manually and with use of a fork-lift
Qualifications/Requirements:
• High School Diploma / GED
Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to use measuring and wiring tools, as required by the job
• Willingness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to stand on feet and walk 8 hours
• Willingness and ability to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, and reach
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required
• Willingness and ability to work with hands extended above head
• Willingness and ability to perform work while standing on a ladder
• Willingness and ability to stand on feet and walk to perform all physical requirements of the job for an 8-10 hour shift
Desired Characteristics:
• Fork truck certification or ability to obtain
• Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, manufacturing, stockroom, and/or warehouse setting
• Basic computer skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Accurate with numbers and counting
• Excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively as a team player
