JOB DESCRIPTION:
Co-ordinate the test & repair of Traction Electronics through the test process utilising optimal test resource.
Set cell targets and prioritise workload to meet business KPI targets.
Overview and safeguard safe working practices in all test areas, especially where high voltage testing is carried out.
Evaluate new items for repair and develop test strategy to offer cost effective test for the business.
Report weekly operational K.P.I’s to the Test Manager.
Liaise with projects and internal / external customers to offer suitable test solutions.
Produce technical reports when required to substantiate warranty analysis and reason for product failure.
Mentor and develop product technicians / testers to establish and improve defined 'ways of working'.
Propose technical solutions, test methods and working practices to improve test / repair processes.
Implement and maintain routine maintenance procedures and methods to ensure test down time is reduced to a minimum.
Provide emergency test cover when required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSBILITIES
Conduct production testing on circuit board products or electronic assemblies
Troubleshoot to the component level.
Use test equipment to determine pass/fail requirements
Use of environmental chambers to determine quality assurance
Ensure personal compliance with Quality Systems processes
Mentor other technicians.
Proactively participate in safety and lean programs
Set up test procedures with minimal supervision
Provide guidance to Electronic Technician II & III
Provide advanced level testing and troubleshooting assistance to test technicians.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics with 1+ year of experience OR Associate's Degree in Electronics with 4+ years of experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use basic test equipment such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators and counters
Ability to use all basic test equipment without instruction and the ability to configure and use advanced test equipment such as spectrum analyzer or logic analyzer.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous soldering experience
Good verbal and written communication skills; legible handwriting
Ability to work in a team environment
Detail-oriented
Previous experience using advanced test equipment
Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing
Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
Able to work with minimal supervision
Previous experience training others
Demonstrated leadership skills
