Royal Credit Union is looking for a highly analytical, energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Consumer Loan Underwriting Team to help facilitate the goals of our members and potential members through high impact lending and education.  From working with our large network of dealer partners, making and delivering decisions, counseling members on credit, to monitoring our portfolio using data, there is never a dull moment in this fast paced, informal leader career opportunity at Royal.

Description:

The Consumer Loan Underwriter represents the fiscal interests of Royal Credit Union and its Members, and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting of consumer loan requests in accordance with Credit Union policies and guidelines. This role ensures timely turnaround on applications and performance of loans written for applications received through both Direct (branches, online, member service call center) and Indirect (dealership partners) channels.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. Variable hours between 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM Monday – Friday, and a rotation for Saturdays from 8:30 – 4:00 PM.

 

Required Skills:

• Associate degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience

• Two years of prior financial related experience.

• Ability to evaluate loan and credit applications to determine credit worthiness of a Member.

• Ability to interview applicants by phone or in any written form of communication to resolve questions regarding application information.

• Ability to make decisions on all loan and credit applications following compliance regulations and RCU policies and procedures.

• Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.

• Ability to produce accurate and high-quality materials, data entry, and transactions.

• Experience establishing priorities, working independently, and proceeding with objectives under minimal supervision.

• Experience working productively in an environment with high levels of interruption.

• Experience working in a team environment.

• Communicate and live RCU's core purpose and values, these define and drive our organizational culture

 

Preferred Skills:

• Call center experience

• FICEP Certified (CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program) or other financial counseling certification.

•Awareness of laws and regulations governing consumer lending practices

• Experience in data analytics and/or business intelligence
