General Summary (What is done and why)

The Operational Reporting Analyst should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, results driven, team environment. They will focus on accurately analyzing and gathering report requirements, collecting data, and creating insightful reporting/dashboards/visualizations to answer business questions. This person will assist in managing the requests from our internal business customers providing operational support and data gathering. This includes generating list for data cleanup, reporting for operational efficiency, as well as continued report management throughout the report life cycle. The analyst should have a basic understanding and basic ability to query and work within a database. In addition, the candidate should display curiosity, creativity, and be a good problem solver, organizer, and time manager. Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)


  1. Manages the Enterprise Analytics inbox/request tickets for initial assessment of effort required to complete requests. Time: 5%

  2. Develops and maintains new and existing reports for the organization using various technologies. (Examples SQL, SQL Server, Reporting Services, Tableau, Qlik Sense and Microsoft Office.) Time: 60%

  3. Develops knowledge and understanding of reporting available from our Core Transaction Processing system, Fiserv DNA. Time: 5%

  4. Resolves production problems of low to medium complexity and works with end-users to support applications as needed. Time: 15%

  5. Assists business, analytic, and operational users of the analytics tools to maximize adoption and use. Time: 5%

  6. Performs other duties as required by management. Actively engages management to identify areas for improvement and/or analysis. Time: 10%

Education (Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Accounting or two years of related work experience required.

Experience (Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)

In addition to the education requirement:


  • A minimum of 1-year professional Information Systems or analytical experience required.

  • A minimum of 1-year SQL (or other database query language) programming experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Minimum technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)


  • Working knowledge of relational data models, database design, and data modeling concepts

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to utilize a large-scale data warehouse

  • Working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services

  • Able to highlight issues/problems and convey complex thoughts, written and oral, in a clear, concise, and timely manner

  • Comfort in using a wide range of interpretive analysis tools (e.g. trend analysis, spreadsheets, comparisons, graphs, summary versus detail charts, drill-down, correlations, maps, exception analysis)

  • Daily, personal/written/phone contact with community agencies and consultants

Physical Demands (Physical effort generally associated with this position)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer. Deadlines, workloads, and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels. Ability to lift an average of 35 pounds may be required when moving boxes of printed materials.

Working Conditions (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)

Internal - Work is normally performed in climate- controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.

External - Some travel is required; however, information on environmental conditions is not available.
