QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Must obtain work permit, if applicable. Prior experience in food service production is desirable.
Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate and interact positively with students, teachers, staff, etc.
Must have the capacity to grasp the proper use of scales and other food production equipment. Equipment and tools may be restricted as to comply with all child labor laws as applicable.
Must have the capacity to comprehend and utilize standardized recipes and production sheets.
Must have the capacity to operate a point of sale cashier system.
Must be able to read and write English, do simple arithmetic, and follow oral and written instructions.
Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
Must be capable of standing on feet for 7-8 hours at a time.
Must be eligible for Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
Must be reliable, adaptable, and organized. Must display good judgment, initiative, cooperation, and positive work behavior.
KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
Food safety guidelines such as HACCP and ServSafe.
Working knowledge and experience involved in foodservice aspects such as food preparation, service, sanitation, equipment, and safety.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Works cooperatively with management, NSD staffing and other departments to promote an organized harmonious environment.
Prepares and serves meals according to production documents.
Ensures all HACCP and ServSafe regulations are being adhered to as well as Glade Run Lutheran Services’ policies, procedures, and management directives.
Ensures that all equipment is used, maintained, and cleaned properly.
Ensures an orderly workstation and overall department cleanliness by performing various sanitation duties.
Report any problems, injuries or disturbances to management.
