Job Overview:
As Mender's VP of Business Development, you'll lead our efforts in engaging, maintaining and expanding relationships with top-tier clients, including Fortune 1000 enterprises, Data Centers, VARs, and MSPs. Your role is critical in identifying strategic opportunities within these and other key markets, driving growth through tailored solutions, and building lasting partnerships. You will guide our team to create value-driven propositions that resonate with our upstream customers, ensuring we meet and exceed our business development goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in aligning our sales strategy with market demands and nurturing high-impact relationships that propel Mender forward.
Your responsibilities include crafting strategies to surpass sales goals, fostering a culture of success within the sales team, and driving profitable growth. Collaborating with the leadership, you'll help set budgets and strategic directions, ensuring our Inbound Sales team is performing in accordance with our mission and core values.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and expand the inbound sales team from 3 to 5-6 reps, ensuring they are aligned with Mender's goals and values.
- Act as a player-coach, securing larger deals and supporting your team through Mender's established sales process while refining it where needed.
- Take full ownership of forecasting, budgeting, and performance metrics, with guidance and input from the EVP.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives, including the introduction of new service offerings and business opportunities, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Maintain daily oversight of the sales pipeline, ensuring the team meets or exceeds revenue and contract goals.
- Coach and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring a repeatable, scalable sales process.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and growth of new team members to support expansion efforts.
- Ensure all sales activities align with Mender's core values-No Drama, Honesty and Transparency, Humanity, and Innovation.
- Partner closely with marketing to align campaigns and ensure seamless lead generation and sales conversion.
- Build and oversee a service delivery/account management / customer service t team to ensure seamless execution of client engagements and foster long-term customer relationships
