Required Skills & Experience:
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a financial analyst, data analyst, accounting analyst.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with a construction, residential, homebuilder, real estate or oil and gas company.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with Pivot tables and V-look ups.

Job Description:

A home builder client in Richmond, TX is looking for a Land Analyst to join the Land Department. The Land Analyst will play a crucial role in developing the acquisition package for the land acquisition and development process. Here are some key responsibilities typically associated with this position.
  • Gathering all necessary documents and information to put the land acquisition package together for corporate approval.
  • Preparing market analysis reports to assess property values, including compiling market activity and financial trends.
  • Utilizing Excel proforma to show economic effects on the current deals.
  • Prepare House Profit Analyses and review gross profit margins for each sales contract.
  • Review SG&A expenses and provide coding.
  • Assist in SG&A forecast preparation.
  • Interacting with environmental engineering company, geotechnical soil companies, title company and other pass consults to collect market data to generate reports.
  • Prepare and submit surety requests to corporate and coordinate approvals thru municipality and legal for issuance, including submittals for extensions and reductions and assist the Land Development Department and/or Project Managers (LDPM's) with releases.
  • Process all Contract Request Form (CRF) and Budget Line Adjustments (BLA) requests from the Land Development Department and/or the LDPM's.
  • Review land development budgets monthly, enter budget adjustments, and provide journal entries to accounting.
  • Assist vendors and employees with questions related to Land Development contracts and payments.
  • Update system with drill dates for soils reports and manage the collection of the dates.
  • Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
