Job Description Summary
Research Specialist A: The Bushman laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking qualified candidates for a position to carry out exciting analysis of genomic outcomes in human gene therapy. The position requires expertise in DNA manipulation. The candidate should have experience with DNA purification and amplification, with additional cloning and sequencing experience preferred. The applicant should also be familiar with online tools for DNA sequence manipulation and analysis. Expertise with programming and statistical analysis are also desirable.
Research Specialist B: In addition to the above, the research specialist B will design experiments, analyze and interpret results independently and summarize results in written reports and team meetings.

General Qualifications: The candidate must be energetic, self-motivated, reliable, and responsible. Experience with DNA manipulation is required and expertise in bioinformatic analysis is preferred. Good organization, communication, and writing skills are required.
Research Specialist A Qualifications: BS in a biological field of study and 0-1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.
Research Specialist B Qualifications: BS in a biological field of study and 1-3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Master's degree preferred.
