Job Description Summary
The project manager will provide support the research, programs and professional activities of Dr. Carmen Guerra, Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The project manager will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of 10+ research projects including grant fund management; data collection, management and reporting; IRB submissions; and the coordination of study meetings. S/he will be expected to work independently in managing budgets of existing grants and creating applications and budgets for future projects as directed by the principal investigator (PI). Should new research and funding opportunities arise, the project manager will be responsible for the preparation and submission of the grant proposals. S/he will also prepare grant progress reports and contribute to the writing of the results of the research.
Job Description
DUTIES:
The project manager will provide support to the research and professional activities of two principal investigators in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine. The project manager will be responsible for the regular update and evaluation of budgets, requesting new and maintaining existing access to data, and IRB submissions. S/he will be responsible for the submission of materials for new funding opportunities.
Position contingent upon funding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and 3-5 years of experience in a health-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree is preferred. The successful candidate will be extremely well organized and resourceful. The project manager must be quantitatively and analytically skilled, thrive in multi-tasking environments, and be a self-starter with a results orientation. Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint is required. The project manager will interact with a variety of faculty members, staff, and students throughout the university, so strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. High accuracy, dependability, and attention to detail will be vital to success in the position. The project manager should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
