Duties: The Changing Brain Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time research specialist beginning in May 2019. The lab conducts behavioral and neuroimaging studies of brain plasticity and development, with the translational goal of improving academic outcomes for children struggling in school. This position will involve designing experiments, collecting behavioral data in schools and in lab, operating the MRI scanner, and assisting with data analysis and publication. It will also involve interacting with children and families, building research partnerships with schools and community organizations, managing a team of undergraduate research assistants, and other lab coordination duties.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, education, psychology, cognitive science, or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Strong oral and written communication skills and Research experience at the undergraduate level, ideally in neuroscience, psychology, or related field preferred. Direct experience working with children in an educational or research setting required.
