Auto Mechanic is responsible for maintenance on all company vehicles.
Responsibilities
Maintain company vehicles for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters and brakes
Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Follow state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Ensures company vehicles are DOT compliant for the road
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2-3 years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem -solving and repair experience
Valid Driver's License
Effectively and safely use mechanic's tools and equipment to diagnose and trouble shoot complex equipment problems
Communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
Prioritize work assignments
Exhibit a deep understanding of the necessity of equipment safety
Flexible work assignments
Position requires a drug test and motor vehicle report to be completed, contingent upon employment.
Physical Demands
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50lbs assisted or unassisted.
