Position SummaryMichigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine's Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology Service is on the lookout for a passionate part-time (Health Programs Clinical Track) or full-time (Health Programs Clinical or Tenure Track) faculty member. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level to help shape our clinical service, teaching, and research mission.

Unique Imaging Experience
The Diagnostic Imaging Service at MSU handles over 12,000 cases annually, offering diverse opportunities for specialization in various species and diagnostic modalities. Our dedicated imaging team consists of three part-time radiologists, an intern, Radiology Service Manager, PACS administrator, and wonderful team of nurses, sonographers, radiographers and a veterinary assistant. We are actively pursuing a residency in diagnostic imaging.
Our service is supplemented by teleradiology to efficiently manage caseloads and enhance teaching, research, and outreach opportunities for on-site faculty. Notably, this position does not require on-call responsibilities, and we offer flexible on-site hours.

Our Veterinary Medical Center features a cutting-edge Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory that performs over one million diagnostic tests annually on approximately 180,000 cases. Our Health Programs (HP) and Tenure System positions are dynamic and generally have a 50-75% clinical appointment for the HP track and 30-50% clinical appointment for the tenure track. Both HP and tenure faculty have equal voting rights, and the main difference between the two is a primary and independently driven research focus is expected for tenure stream faculty whereas a more collaborative research focus for HP faculty is acceptable. For both systems, effort distributions across clinical service, teaching and scholarly activities are negotiable with the Department Chairperson and are amenable to change. Merit evaluations and promotions are based on the faculty member's performance within their assigned duties.

Required DegreeOther -DVM or Equivalent
Minimum RequirementsDVM/VMD or equivalent degree and successful completion of radiology/diagnostic imaging residency program, and certification or eligibility of certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI). Eligibility for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan (Clinical Academic Limited licensure and Controlled Substance licensure are available).
