We have an immediate opening for a Field Engineer Intern, in Charleston, SC. As an Intern, you will be introduced to a variety of project management and estimating activities to develop your understanding of the business and construction. Your time as an Intern will be spent working on bid packages, estimating project costs, coordinating materials, schedules, and project documentation. The goal of our internship program is to immerse you in the many phases of completing a successful project.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Works alongside the Project Team to develop and submit RFI's and distribute procurement documents.
Tracks project costs, equipment quantities, and subcontractor activity timeline.
Works closely with the project team monitoring the safety, cost and scheduling of construction projects.
Assists with the coordination, scheduling, and delivery of material and equipment.
Supports the Superintendent in coordinating on-site work groups and assigned work.
Assists field crew and craft personnel with interpretation of drawings.
Helps ensure accurate maintenance of recordkeeping and document control for project documentation, correspondences, and reports.
Represents the Company in conjunction with the Superintendent and/or the Project Manager in project progress and status meetings, ensuring to maintain a positive relationship with subs/suppliers.
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
In the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Minimum of 3.0 GPA, preferred.
