The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Security Analyst 2.
The Security Analyst 2 - Central (H) conducts advanced computer forensic investigations, data recovery, and electronic discovery. The incumbent in this role maintains and enhances systems to protect data from unauthorized access, as well as develops and implements security protocols and policies. This position identifies, reports, and resolves more complex security violations and threats.
Core Responsibilities:
Works closely with clients and senior management to define and refine security management requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Conducts comprehensive evaluations of security controls, identifies potential vulnerabilities, and recommends enhancements to mitigate risks.
Develops and delivers advanced training and awareness programs tailored to different levels within the organization, promoting a strong security culture.
Collaborates with human resources and other departments to integrate security considerations into all aspects of organizational processes.
Provides specialized consulting services across the organization, addressing complex security challenges and advising on best practices.
Leads the documentation and analysis of security incidents, ensuring a timely and effective response.
Continuously researches new technologies and methodologies to enhance the organization's security posture and recommends their implementation.
Develops and oversees auditing and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with internal and external security policies.
Provides strategic advice to information asset owners, including risk assessments and the development of action plans for securing data.
Supervises security coordinators and junior analysts, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Travel to the job site during go-lives, conferences, rounding, and/or senior leadership meetings.
Provides support for IT security related issues.
Provide support to technical and non-technical teams on the security findings while maintaining industry best practice standards.
Collect, analyze threat intelligence reports, and escalate depending on the risk level.
Monitor vulnerabilities, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance.
Review, assess, investigate, and escalate security incident to the security operations team.
Create standard operating procedures documents in adherence to security policies and standards of the University of Miami.
Performs research on new and improved ways to properly protect the organization's information assets.
Monitor vulnerabilities, including misuse of information assets and noncompliance. Review and perform root cause analysis when required.
Broad understanding of HIPAA and NIST industry standards.
Review and document root cause analysis when required.
Adheres to IT standards.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Performs other tasks as assigned

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.
Certification in relevant specialty or field
CompTIA Security+ (Sec+) preferred
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in information security.
Proficient with common regulatory compliance requirements.
Solid understanding of HIPAA Security Safeguards and the NIST cybersecurity standards.
Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security policies, processes, procedures, and standards.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of information risk concepts and principles to relate business needs to security controls.
Develop and periodically review and update policies and procedures.
Manage the security awareness training program.
Monitor compliance with policies, regulations, and customer requirements.
Familiarity with best practices and compliance standards.
In charge of documenting and remediating open action plans.
Review request for access to PHI.
Escalate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Develop key performance indicator metrics and dashboards.
