Renewable Solar Inc is a rapidly growing Solar PV Engineering, Construction and Procurement (ECP) company, currently managing a portfolio of over 200 ongoing PV solar projects valued in excess of $200M with a staff of roughly 140 personnel. The Electrical and/or Mechanical Technical Advisor positions are separate but could be filled by a single individual with the right experience and background. Electrical advisor is the priority between the two.
Position Overview: The Electrical/Mechanical Technical Advisors are critical oversight positions are focused on improving technical competence and capabilities of construction management supervisory staff, with goal of improving overall project quality, safety and efficiency at the project level.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical oversight of project level construction, sharing and teaching mechanical/electrical knowledge and skills as necessary.
Work closely with the QC Manager and O&M team to implement best practices, quickly correcting any shortcomings in active construction practices.
Document employee technical progression in moving from apprentice to journeyman level work, providing feedback to supervisors and management on employee capabilities.
Document guidance to field operations in the form of simple Construction Bulletins that outline best practices to ensure companywide adherence.
Serve as a technical resource by collaborating and supporting Project Mangers, Design Engineers and Superintendents through all phases of a project life cycle.
Requirements: The ideal candidate has 10+ years of mechanical/electrical commercial construction experience with demonstrated mastery of mechanical and/or electrical trade. Residential experience will not be considered as relevant. He or she will have a unique ability to teach others through strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidate must have experience with Apprentice to Journeyman programs, and strong desire to pass along knowledge to improve other skillsets.
Supervisory Controls: This is a non-supervisory position. This position reports to the Director of Construction. Expectation is 40-45-hour work week, typically Monday through Friday from 6AM-3PM with minimal OT or weekend work.
Compensation: This is a salary position, range at $125k-$150k depending on experience and qualifications. Package includes 5% 401k match and employer sponsored health/vision/dental and life insurance options. Two weeks PTO, and 1 week sick standard.
Travel: Advisors MUST visit jobs sites on a routine basis. Company truck will be provided for local daily travel. Overnight travel is expected to be roughly less than 10% for 2025 (2-3 weeks maximum), growing to maximum of 20% for 2026 (4-6 weeks). Overnight travel is fully reimbursable at standard per diem rates.
Evaluation Factors: This is a senior advisory position; successful performance will be determined based on Construction Department Key Performance Metrics. This may include reduced re-work, improved efficiency, employee technical progression, etc.
