One of our top priorities this year is to establish an in-house Field Operations Manager to originate, negotiate, execute, and oversee Erector Subcontracts for both our Pre-Engineered Metal Building and Conventional Commercial Projects. Position Summary: Western Steel Buildings is seeking a Field Operations Manager to join our project execution team and lead our field operations initiatives. Project types include multi-story office buildings, recreation centers, large warehouses, and others.
Job Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for the coordination, productivity, and quality control of all field operations
Develops a list of qualified erectors
Establishes an erector qualification process
Performs erector bid and schedule evaluations
Originates, negotiates, and executes erector subcontracts
Evaluates and reports performance of erectors
Evaluates safety performance and conformance to OSHA and company safety policies of erectors
Regular on-site presence
Coordinates on-site delivery of Western procured materials and on-site inventory
Understands, documents, tracks, and mitigates all project Risks such as Client relations, financial, schedule, and safety related items
Conducts pre-planning meetings with erector
Reviews erector sequencing plan, crane selection, and key project staffing
Coordinates RFIs, revisions, change orders, and punchlists to closure
Approves payment releases per subcontract terms
Reports to the Director of Operations
Qualifications:
Experience as an Onsite Iron Worker Forman in pre-engineered metal building and conventional commercial construction
Ability to read structural steel shop drawings, erection drawings and architectural/structural plans
Ability to successfully coordinate with clients toward building long term relationships
Possess strong organizational and time management skills
OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 Training
Currently contributing to a diverse team in the completion of multiple projects through the construction phase
