Position Overview:
Operate Tiffany & Co. equipment and set tools in a safe manner, follow work instruction processes, check work to ensure product meets Tiffany & Co. quality standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Set up progressive tools and dies to do blanking, piercing, striking and bending operations. Run and operate presses according to toolmakers specifications and as workload dictates. Check work orders before running tools and operating equipment. Ensure tool set up in press coinsides with style indicated on work order. Check pieces for Quality and make sure tool & product are a match to the work order.
Responsible for the changeover of product with basic set up including work holding fixtures, stops, datum offsets and indicators. Monitors wear conditions on all cutting tools to determine replacement frequency.
Perform 1st piece and in-process inspection of products for assurance of continued compliance to quality standards for dimensional, aesthetic, form, fit and function features as well as minimizing scrap and defective product.
Participates in 5S activities and ensures a clean and safe work environment is maintained. Build partnerships within and across departments to provide efficiency and create a supportive work environment
Check work orders before running tools and operating equipment. Ensure tool set up coincides with style indicated on work order. Check pieces for quality and make sure tool & product to match work order.
Setup, operate, and adjust tube making and forming equipment, including tube forming, seam welders, drawing benches, annealing ovens and tube bending and cutting machines. Make adjustments on process parameters/ programs for all the above mentioned equipment as necessary based on 1st piece inspection.
Trouble shoots equipment when not operating properly. Determine and implement alternative tooling approaches when the need arises. Identify root causes of problems and resolves without supervision.
Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for your position, as well as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite.
Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to your supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
5 plus years experience setting tools for heavy striking equipment and metal forming equipment.
Ability and understanding in reading blueprints
Ability to use precision measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, calipers, vision systems)
Good English communication skills-Written and Oral, ability to read and follow all established safety and manufacturing procedures
Good interpersonal skills, ability to work and communicate with others in a constructive and professional manner
