Join us and gain vital, real-world experience with a Van Drunen summer internship! Interns will be placed within a functional area related to their program of study. This is a paid internship program and will run full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May.
JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Quality Intern, you will help ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards and comply with all relevant regulatory guidelines. You will support quality assurance by participating in quality control protocols, as well as sampling and testing for product and packaging. In this role, you will also help identify and report any issues that may affect food safety or product quality. Additionally, you will assist team members in maintaining accurate documentation and record-keeping for quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research production issues, complaints, and out-of-specification products to help come up with resolutions.
Monitor and maintain records and assist in ensuring that sensitive productions are completed accurately as per described in formulations and sampling.
All other tasks, duties, and responsibilities assigned by the Plant Quality Manager.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Attention to detail and demonstrated time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Initiative, resourcefulness, and strong interpersonal skills
Have a curious, proactive and solution-oriented approach
Desire to learn and grow professionally
Creative and innovative ideas
Ability to take direction and multi-task
Demonstrated ability to exhibit a positive attitude, professional image, and demeanor.
EDUCATION:
Upperclassman (incoming Junior or Senior) at an accredited College or University
Desired Major(s): Food Science, Data Analytics, Chemistry, Biology
Preferred Minimum GPA: 3.0
