What You'll Contribute to OHM Advisors
As a Senior Planner at OHM Advisors, you will lead and support community-focused planning projects that meet and exceed client expectations and advance the state of planning practice. You will work independently to accomplish tasks to a high standard, while collaborating with project teams to provide exceptional planning-related services for a variety of clients.
You will use your experience from past planning projects, ranging from comprehensive plans, area development plans, downtown plans, zoning codes, economic development plans, parks and recreation planning, and community engagement. The successful candidate will have strong eye for design within planning and be able to utilize and guide other staff on the use of Adobe Suite, infographic development, with strong foundational knowledge and application of planning and urban design principles.
OHM Advisors is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team and play a key role in our Pittsburgh office. This role requires a balance of visionary thinking, practical problem-solving, and strong leadership skills to deliver exceptional results for our clients and communities throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and support planning projects at a variety of scales and complexities, ensuring alignment with client goals and community needs.
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.
Spearhead client relationships, serving as the point of contact and trusted advisor.
Direct and synthesize high-level research and analysis to inform evidence-based planning decisions and policy recommendations.
Lead engaging and productive stakeholder workshops, charrettes, and public presentations, both in-person and virtually.
Oversee the creation of compelling deliverables, including master plans, design guidelines, and policy documents, ensuring the highest quality standards.
Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, networking, and cultivating new opportunities in the Pittsburgh region and beyond.
Stay at the forefront of urban planning trends and technologies, integrating cutting-edge approaches into our practice.
Contribute thought leadership through conference presentations, publications, and participation in professional organizations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of the planning practice and support overall firm growth.
Willingness to travel intermittently to other offices.

Requirements:
Education, Experience & Licensure:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Urban Planning or related field.
7-10 years' experience in public or private planning.
Experience working with Pennsylvania's Municipal Planners Code (MPC).
Technical Skills:
Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) skills and comprehension.
GIS experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Previously demonstrated written and analytical skills.
