Job Brief The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for DBA (database administration) work including development, design, build and support of advanced featured databases on complex environments that support our 24X7 mission critical business applications. SUMMARY The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for DBA (database administration) work including development, design, build and support of advanced featured databases on complex environments that support our 24X7 mission critical business applications and systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure database availability, security, replication, problem analysis & resolution. Performance tuning, SQL tuning, automation, integrity, currency, and recoverability. Installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of databases and their related components. Monitor performance of existing database systems and recommend effective utilization of resources and emergency recover procedures. Develop and maintain backup plans and security policies for all databases. Communicate potential problems, enhancements and performance considerations to management. Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Perform other related duties as required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or Sciences or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in a Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role. Oracle Certification is a plus. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Experience with Oracle 19c standalone and multitenant database systems. Advanced Oracle DBA Experience (Oracle RAC, DataGuard) is a plus. Experience with various database features like replication, clustering, partitioning, etc. Experienced in Linux/Unix shell scripting and other DBA specific Linux/UNIX skills. Proven experience supporting 24x7 high volume mission critical production databases. Extensive knowledge with monitoring tools and writing custom monitoring and maintenance tools. Proven knowledge with various database backup methodologies and recovery strategies & procedures. Proven experience with database performance tuning and capacity planning. Proven Experience with migrating databases between different database versions. Proven ability to design, implement and support database best practices. Proven ability to conduct POC’s and certifications of new database products and features. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting. Regular sitting at work station for 25 – 75% of the work shift. Frequent standing and walking. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role.
