Description:
Maintenance Planning Manager
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities to ensure efficient operation of facilities and equipment.
- Provide strong leadership and strategic planning to enhance maintenance processes.
- Enforce and monitor compliance with maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance standards, and programs for stationary and mobile heavy equipment.
- Ensure safety standards are met for all equipment within the area of responsibility, covering sites in Alabama and Georgia.
- Headquartered at the Axis, AL site, with travel required to other sites in Alabama and Georgia.
- Identify training needs and provide training for site maintenance personnel to ensure adherence to corporate and manufacturer maintenance standards.
- Approve the utilization and placement of all site equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive records for all site equipment.
- Compile justifications for the replacement versus repair of capital equipment.
- Analyze maintenance activities and costs using the computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all maintenance records are accurately recorded in the CMMS.
- Assist in the preparation and justification of budgets and establish priorities for maintenance and capital projects.
- Support the Area General Manager with special maintenance project requests or start-ups.
- Monitor the performance of site maintenance personnel, recommending corrective actions for underperformers and commendations for high performers.
- Conduct Site Maintenance audits.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic background.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Preference for candidates with a BA/BS degree or a combination of experience and education.
- Preference for candidates with 7+ years of experience in the scrap/metal industry or with off-highway heavy equipment.
- Ability to work effectively and independently as part of a cross-functional team, demonstrating teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and ERP software.
