Job Description
Logistics Supervisorresponsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Serves as a resource for technicians, technologists and department management
Provides leadership in the department as an acting mentor and role model for staff
In tandem with the manager/director, will oversee the scheduling of staff to ensure production schedules are met
Supervise the day-to-day operation of the department to insure smooth flow of samples and testing

Approves Holiday or PTO requests and updates the weekly schedule for department's ability to function with decreased staff
Updates and submits employees timecards in a timely manner
Serves as a department-related content subject matter expert
Establishes priorities in work to be done and assigns specific activities to technicians
If applicable, directs internal proficiency/competency program according to regulatory standards and operating procedures
Resolves service-related issues and coordinates information and problem solving with lab manager, staff and clients in a timely fashion
Communicates problems and discuss resolution with management
Providing employee performance and annual reviews to manager as directed for employee reviews
Oversees the operation of the laboratory which includes but is not limited to supply inventory, ordering, and maintaining the work area
Serves as a liaison for the department to other internal departments
Assists in making sure policies and procedures are followed and that training is complete for all staff members
Aides in implementing changes and corrective action to help with process improvement
Assists with personnel management including but not limited to scheduling, minor conflict resolution, training, and competency
Interfaces with auditors
Gives insights and information to the department management with annual evaluations of employees
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology form an accredited institution
MinimumQualifications:
Preferred previous experience leading/managing teams
Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the applicable department
Knowledge of the principles applicable to the facility and regulated laboratory testing industry
Ability to instruct subordinates and delegate tasks
Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures
Strong communication skills & analytical thinking
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
