Job Description:
Are you looking for a new position impacting early childhood education? NDE is looking for an Early Childhood Professional Development Specialist to coordinate planning and development of training curriculum for early childhood educators and care providers throughout Nebraska!
This is a supportive, close knit group looking for candidates who are detail-oriented. There are multiple training projects at any given time so organization and efficient management of multiple tasks will lead you to success!
Office Location & Schedule: This position is assigned to our office located in La Vista, NE, with potential for some telework after an onboarding and training period, contingent upon proper agency approvals.
Pay Rate:
$33.118/hour
This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions
Plans, develops, and updates training curriculum for early childhood education and care providers throughout Nebraska.
Conducts needs assessments to determine training needs, and follow-up evaluations of completed training to measure results; modifies programs based on evaluations to meet the needs of early childhood professionals.
Collaborates with other internal and external stakeholders to strengthen professional development opportunities for early childhood education and care providers.
Leads planning and study groups to brainstorm ideas for statewide and regional training events.
Trains and coaches early childhood professionals using a blended approach, integrating different learning models such as coaching, classroom instruction, online learning, and action learning. Facilitates Train-the-Trainer events for Early Childhood curriculum.
Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Working Conditions and Travel:
This position requires approximately 90% of work time spent in an office environment (e.g., state offices, home offices); the remaining 10% is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as schools, educational service units, and other service agencies. There is no expected overnight travel.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field and at least two years of experience related to the essential functions, including experience coordinating projects or programs. Previous experience with Articulate and Canvas.
