Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Education is looking for an early childhood education professional to provide leadership and coordination among state agencies and other partners, in order to implement a Nebraska statewide early childhood professional development system. This includes working with Institutions of Higher Education, colleges and universities, and high schools.
To work with these stakeholders, experience with higher education and understanding of how colleges and universities work together will set you up for success! Office Location & Schedule: This position is assigned to our office located in La Vista, NE, with potential for some telework after an onboarding and training period, contingent upon proper agency approvals.
Pay Rate:
$33.118/hour
This rate is based upon available budget funds; any offer will be made at this rate.

Essential Functions
Manages Early Learning Connection (ELC) grants and provides assistance to regional and statewide recipients of the grant.
Represents the Nebraska Department of Education and serves on a variety of committees, workgroups, and meetings.
Facilitates strategic partnerships, including serving as liaison between stakeholders (e.g., Institutions of Higher Education and T.E.A.C.H. licensees) and ensuring alignment among systems and with NDE objectives.
Coordinates the Early Childhood Community College Consortium, including reviewing and updating course syllabi, managing prior credit transfers, and reviewing policies.
Aligns the Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate with Institutions of Higher Education (IHE). Ensures transfer agreements are consistent and mutually beneficial, and facilitates collaboration to align standards and policies.
Processes applications for the Nebraska School Readiness Tax Credit program to ensure compliance with eligibility requirements. Revises program criteria according to legislative changes and program goals.
Demonstrates commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
Working Conditions and Travel:
This position requires approximately 90% of work time spent in an office environment (e.g., state offices, home offices); the remainder is spent traveling or working in alternative sites such as early childhood facilities, educational service units, and other service agencies. There is also approximately two days of overnight travel per month.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Any equivalent education and/or work experience may be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in early childhood education and at least two years of experience related to the essential functions of the position. Experience teaching early childhood education curriculum at the postsecondary level.
