SUMMARY:
The Lead Mechanic will manage shop workflow to include scheduling, planning, and assigning work within their team, while ensuring quality repairs and maintenance in a high-performance environment. Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, light duty vehicles, and pumps.
JOB DUTIES:
Experience full line mechanic preferred
Oversee repair and upkeep of multiple vehicles for our organization or business
Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, suppliers, and other employees both verbally and in writing; adapt to change; deliver presentations to both leadership and peers as well as relate to and influence peers, suppliers, and co-workers; develop and maintain good working
Ensures that Imperative policies, standards, and procedures are met, followed, and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g., OSHA and safety compliance, DOT compliance, Federal/State/Local Laws, IFTA regulations and related compliance requirements)
Communicates with co-workers, employees, internal customers, and suppliers verbally and in writing regarding policy and procedure changes, departmental activities, status of vehicle repairs and maintenance and other information
Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance, and works outside of normal schedule as required meeting workload demands. Performs other related duties as required
Experienced in vehicle, truck, and equipment repair
Other duties may be assigned
TRAINING, OVERSIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES: HEAVY OR LIGHT
Assist in controlling repair, inventory, and labor costs
Facility, assuring a clean and safe working environment
Frequent communication of vehicle service issues to management
Assists in maintaining fleet based on regularly scheduled preventative maintenance; maintains accurate inventory
Responsible for assisting, scheduling, and delegating tasks to fleet mechanics.
Responsible for communication with Fleet Manager and/or Supervisor to ensure efficiency of fleet.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to lead; can give and take direction
Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Advanced training and/or experience as fleet mechanic preferred
Good mechanical and administration skills
CDL A license is with hazmat, tanker and endorsement preferred
