Lutron has an immediate opening for a Trade Compliance Manager at our Annex office location in Center Valley, PA. This position will manage comprehensive export and import controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies in the United States and the other countries to which Lutron imports, while also developing new controls to adapt to changing business needs. The Trade Compliance Manager will interface with regulatory customs officers, custom brokers, outside trade counsel, and internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to trade.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and support to all business units worldwide related to: import/export compliance management, training, auditing, improvement strategies and process redesign
Actively work across functions to ensure that import/export compliance is maintained while ensuring that overall organization objectives are supported
Support legal, operations, engineering, and customer service departments in investigating and resolving trade compliance problems, questions, or challenges and creating process changes to eliminate problems
Serve as subject matter expert on import/export issues including, but not limited to, classification, country of origin, free trade qualification, duty drawback, reconciliation, tariff engineering, license requirements, customs processes, port operation, etc. This includes acting as a principal contact during audits conducted by various import/export agencies.
Remain up to date with latest trade compliance regulations
Ensure policies and procedures which document trade compliance for global trade and import/export activities are maintained, updated, and developed
Prepare and draft binding ruling requests in the areas of US HTS codes and country of origin
Prepare responses to CBP requests and notices in a timely fashion (CF28’s, CF29’s) as well as inquiries from customs officials across the globe
Conduct periodic assessments of both company and broker performance and import/export activities
Create and monitor key performance indicators in the area of global trade compliance to understand trends and mitigate risks
Identify and drive corrective actions and improvement initiatives based on periodic assessments
Manage global classification, free trade agreement qualification, country of origin determination, reconciliation, and duty drawback activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics or related field
Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
Licensed Customs Broker
Minimum 10 years of total work experience that includes 5+ years of international trade and compliance experience and 3+ years of leading teams and supervising others
Extensive knowledge of US Import regulations including Free Trade Agreements, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Duty Drawback, Country of Origin, and Reconciliation
Experience creating and documenting trade compliance processes and procedures
Experience with Global Trade Management tools a plus
