The College of Medicine prepares socially accountable, community-based physicians, scientists, and health professionals who are uniquely qualified to transform the health of patients and communities.The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University is currently seeking a post-doctoral scholar to join an energetic lab in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. The selected candidate will be performing research on NIH funded grants related to the mechanism of autophagy in HIV neuropathology and Opioid drug of abuse comorbidities; collecting and analyzing data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills and statistical software in related field to analyze the collected data; manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations and attending scientific conferences and meetings. Duties will also include Service to the College of Medicine (e.g., member of committee, reviewer for journals), grant writing and applying for federal and or state funding.The selected candidate is expected to possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, with scientific writing skills demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications. Lastly, the selected candidate is expected to possess excellent project and time management skills, strong interpersonal and mentoring skills, that advocate for safety and ethics in the workplace.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a PhD degreeDesired Qualifications Candidates with a background in molecular cloning, cell biology, protein biochemistry and working with conventional and transgenic mouse models are preferred.Job Category
