PURPOSE: This position directly participates in and assists in the oversight of day-to-day payroll processing and related activities for Lincoln Electric's US-based and expatriate employees. Strong project management skills are critical to the timely achievement of recurring and periodic deadlines while applying appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Supervises and participates in processing payroll for hourly and salary employees representing multiple locations and subsidiaries.
Supervises and participates in year-end processes, including W-2 production
Leads or actively participates in various payroll and benefits projects, including acquisitions.
Collaborates and coordinates with various stakeholders, including Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, Legal, and Accounting throughout the year.
Assists in the resolution of employee time, pay, benefit deduction, and compensation change issues.
Promotes a robust internal control environment compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements through the documentation of processes and identification and implementation of process improvements.
Responds to requests from internal and external auditors.
Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Becomes proficient in ADP Vantage, including generating custom reports.
Prepares various analyses upon request.
Remains current with applicable tax, unemployment, and other payroll laws and regulations.
Supervises and develops professional staff, including on-the-job training and timely execution of goals and strategic improvement initiatives.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience required
Management / supervisory experience required
Experience with payroll and benefits practices and knowledge of laws for various states with ability to research laws and regulations
Solid understanding of payroll taxation
Must possess a high degree of flexibility and demonstrate the ability to perform numerous tasks and assignments concurrently
Keen attention to detail and ability to meet all deadlines with a sense of urgency
Ability to make solid and rational decisions regarding payroll technical issues
Developed communications and writing skills
Demonstrate advanced computer skills, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
Experience with ADP Vantage preferred
Experience with SAP, SuccessFactors, and Fidelity (Benefits) preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
