Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing drafting and design support of flood control and drainage systems to engineers for stormwater design projects, including storm sewer, grading, and pond layouts. Specifically, this position will include the following responsibilities:
Work from detailed sketches or off redlines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in ORD/MicroStation.
Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles, and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings.
Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision.
Inform Project Managers of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed.
Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members.
Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
Proficient in ORD, MicroStation, Open Roads, & DU software preferred.
Flood control and drainage systems design.
At least five (5) years continuous experience in the A/E consulting field immediately prior to this assignment.
Associate degree in computer-Aided Design /Associates degree in technology with a civil specialization, is preferred yet not required.
Effective communications skills both oral and written skills.
Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients, and public agency officials.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and MS Excel.
