A Project Manager is responsible for the completion of jobs/projects from an operational standpoint. They are the customer contact once a job has been awarded and must manage their resources, staff, and materials appropriately. Professional communication, resource coordination, and schedule management are primary skills responsible for success.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Schedule projects to meet budget requirements and customer deadlines.
Determine labor requirements and dispatch technicians to various job sites.
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, technicians, and clients representing the owner or developer.
Negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure all necessary permits and licenses have been applied for, received and posted at jobsite.
Direct and supervise technicians.
Study job specifications to determine appropriate methods for completion of project.
Requisition supplies and materials to complete projects in a timely manner.
Prepare and submit progress and cost tracking reports as required.
Implement quality control program on assigned projects.
Take actions to deal with the results of delays or emergencies as needed.
Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and installation problems.
Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at job sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.

Competencies and Qualifications
Building and Construction -- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the installation of complex cabling, security, and communications systems.
Mathematics -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Safety and Security -- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote the protection of people, data, and property.
Administration and Management -- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Customer Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exemplary customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools required in our industry including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Accounting – Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
