Responsibilities
As our Field Service Technician– you will report to the report to the Field Service Manager.
JBT Corporation - TIPPER TIE Division is a worldwide supplier of processing and clip packaging machines. Our product range includes fine cutters for emulsified products and a complete line of clippers from tabletop models to automated.
Your customers will be food processing plants across the region.
You will maintain equipment performance, identify upgrades and retrofits at customer sites within the Midwest area of the US (Chicago region) .
On a given day, you may:
Troubleshoot equipment
Ensure the safe proper installation
Demonstrate service of machines at customer sites.
Work with Customer Line Teams and Management to maintain expertise
Understand the configuration, setup, functionality, and components
Report recurring technical questions andr complaints to the Product Development Department.
Work with Product Development to create technical bulletins to correct product problems.
Work with the customer to answer technical questions
Build training courses for external personnel regarding visual Standard Operation Procedures, related to machine models.
Perform programming of PLC, HMI, Servo Drive components
Answer incoming Customer phone calls that involve Technical Support.
Requirements for the role
Associate's degree in engineering, electrical or mechanical systems, or other related discipline, or an equivalent/acceptable amount of industry experience.
5 years experience working in technical support for mechanical systems
Knowledgeable in the forms of Energy Sources: Potential, Electrical, Pneumatic, Kinetic when servicing 120-220 VAC single phase, 400-500 VAC 3 phase, all 24 VDC Logic controls and air pressures up to 120 PSI
Troubleshoot using instrumentation measuring electrical and electronic circuits.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and pneumatic prints.
Establish and cultivate relationships with customers
Demonstrate an understanding of applicable OSHA regulation
Valid driver's license and able to rent a car for travel.
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $56,000 - $85,000 annually. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience. This position is eligible for paid overtime, annual bonus and merit.
Travel and Location: 75% of the time to customer sites throughout the contingent United States, including air travel and car.
Occasional weekend work/travel
You must live or be willing to relocate to the Chicago or Midwest area of the US.
