Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations
Mandatory Lock Out / Tag Out & Hot Works permits must be followed and documented as per policies and procedures
Skilled to operate a variety of tool room machines supporting the ongoing operation of the print plant using both manual and automated equipment
Inspects and determines the nature of difficulties and malfunctioning equipment, then takes necessary action to restore equipment to operating order
Evaluates equipment failures for root cause, communicate findings, makes suggestions for equipment improvements, and installs modifications if needed
Performs daily rounds of equipment and building to observe the operation. Using any tools at their disposal including listening to sounds to detect any unusual operations
Follows preventive maintenance schedules, and procedures, recording all pertinent information such as work performed, parts used, measurements taken, recommendations etc.
Use the Interal Maintenance Program to record information, determine work to be done, complete work orders and communicate and help coworkers troubleshoot all aspects of the production process
Able to fabricate parts on shop equipment if needed to repair, upgrade, modify
Ability to modify equipment operation, parts and techniques, in order to improve efficiency
Ability to complete rebuilds on all equipment to manufacturer’s specs
Machine installation and/or moves as required including initial setup
Help to maintain mechanical spare part inventory levels in the stock room. This includes communication with our purchasing clerk and all details possible written on his maintenance board to help him order parts
Conduct 5S initiatives to ensure a neat environment (cleaning/organizing the maintenance zones)
Other duties as assigned.

Technical competency required
Ontario Mechanical Millwright license 433A or Active Apprentice
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to understand Mech/Elec drawings & CAD Drawings

Schedule:
The individual may have to work flexible work hours as the workload dictates
40-42 hours per week determined by business needs
Safety:

Participate and meet the requirements of HSW training as per Health and Safety Training Matrix
Professional background
Minimum 3 – 5 years working experience; (experience in a printing environment an asset)
Excellent knowledge of machines and their capacity
Operation of precision machine shop equipment
Knowledge of gas and arc welding
Knowledge of the Interal Maintenance Program an asset
