The System Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with global engineering teams to support System level new product development and ensure mechanical compatibility throughout relevant portfolio. This position involves creating 3D models and 2D drawings, contributing to prototype assembly and testing, and preparing system documentation. This individual plays a key role in ensuring the successful execution of product development activities with a focus on quality, functionality, and customer needs. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product success.
Responsibilities:
Collaboration on Engineering activities throughout the System New Product Development (NPDI) process, including designing Solution product structures to meet the requirements of both company product development and new technologies
Close teamwork with global engineering teams on IT solutions design, device selection, and production support, ensuring smooth execution of product development projects with a focus on mechanical compatibility and thermodynamic requirements
Creating reliable designs and 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components, products and systems using Creo and Solid Edge
Cooperation with Global IT Solutions and Rack Offering Managers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored ETO mechanical solutions
Physical assembly and testing of prototypes, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and adherence to design specifications throughout the development process
Collaboration on validation strategies, including planning, execution, and result evaluation, while documenting findings and defining corrective measures to meet and exceed system requirements
Preparation of comprehensive, project-specific system documentation, including technical specifications, design drawings, and related materials, to ensure clear communication and understanding for both internal teams and external customers
Contribution to multiple ongoing projects and switch tasks when situation arises
Working with other Vertiv functional teams
Requirements:
3+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering environment
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering
Knowledge of New product development process (preferred)
Experience in thermodynamic systems (preferred)
Proficiency in working with CREO, Solid Edge or equivalent CAD system
Familiarity with IT systems application
Advanced knowledge in MS office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong time-management with the ability to prioritize tasks
Quality-focused and results-driven approach
Independent and responsible work ethic
Ability to work in a team and willingness to integrate into an existing team
Good Interpersonal skills and communication skills
Travel: Up to 10%
