The Thermal Engineer supports New Product Development for the company's Liquid Cooling products. The Thermal Engineer acts as a technical expert for New Product Development team and Product management. This position provides direct daily support to engineering groups by focusing on Thermal design, Testing and simulation.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical support to internal Vertiv functions
Understands the products, suggesting ideas and improvements back to group.
Supports analysis through mathematical modeling, HVAC software, and simulation for New Product Development
Works to verify Simulation with lab testing. Build confidence in calculated data with empirical support
Work with Mechanical and electrical team to properly design all HVAC controls, piping and heat exchangers.
Performs lab testing of products.
Works closely with technicians, other engineers, providing technical support and guidance to thermal problems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Thermal, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of engineering product development or support experience.
Working knowledge of mechanical concepts.
Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
Basic mechanical CAD tools experience primarily for review of thermal designs.
Ability to open, simply and import models into CFD software
Experience with thermal Design software such as EES, Refprop, Icepak, Flotherm or equivalent analysis package.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional Global Development Teams.
Fluency in English
Ability to travel to the US and internationally
