Responsibilities:
Support aircraft maintenance and structural repairs on military and commercial derivative aircraft, including strike fighters and flight control components.
Adhere to established processes and ensure accurate, timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, process data sheets, and maintenance instruction manuals.
Identify and correctly handle fasteners such as rivets, screws, bolts, and blind rivets.
Perform structural repairs and modifications using close tolerance drilling and precision measuring.
Remove and reinstall access panels, fairings, and damaged screws without damaging surrounding structures.
Apply aircraft finishes, sealants, and corrosion control procedures.
Use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and fabrication techniques for metallic and composite components.
Follow safety procedures, complete required training, and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures, including accurate completion of technical logs and maintenance documentation.
Work shifts as needed and ensure aircraft are delivered on time.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma, GED, or 3+ years of relevant industry or military experience.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Experience:
3+ years of aircraft mechanic experience (commercial or defense).
3+ years of experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Expertise in close tolerance drilling and precision measurement in metallic and composite structures.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to read and comprehend Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, and Service Bulletins.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs individually (or 45 lbs with assistance) in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant.
Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance processes, including human factors, FOD control, tool control, and safety practices.
