RESPONSIBILITIES: The skill level associated with this classification is that which enables incumbents to perform routine maintenance tasks in one trade area within the facility and a minimum of supervision. Employees in this classification typically work within prescribed sets of procedures, but may make independent choices between predefined options. Work may be spot checked while in progress or inspected upon completion. The employee may work alone, as a member of a crew (with or without lead responsibility), or under general supervision or a journey level worker or supervisor. The employee may work evenings and/or weekend hours as related to the job or special projects assigned.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Repair faucets, toilets, basins, bathtubs, hot water heatersRe-install or replace hot water heaters, toilets, sinks, garbage disposalsCut, bend, solder and thread pipeAssemble small water pipe fittingsBleed hot water and steam heating systemsRepair or replace thermocouples, gas control valves and heat exchangers
Electrical repair and/or maintenance:
Repair electrical hand toolsReplace electrical switches, outlets and socketsMake electrical hook-upsRepair small electrical appliances
Mechanical repair and/or maintenance
Replace fan and drive beltsReplace air filtersLubricate motor and fansClean and maintain motorsTroubleshoot and tag faulty equipment for repair by journey craftsperson

QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess ability and knowledge necessary to safely and expeditiously perform maintenance duties of moderate complexity in at least one trade area. At least two years of work experience in the trade; may include time spent as an apprentice or in vocational training. A California driver's license is desirable.This position is responsible for the integrity of Stanford's intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for insuring that his/her involvement with Athletic Department activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and ACC rules and regulations.The expected pay range for this position is $38.64(Step 1) to $46.73(Step 10) per hour. Placement in the pay range is subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
